Book Review: Her Darling Mr. Day (American Royalty 2)

BOOK BY: Grace Hitchcock

What a fun read!

This is the second book in the American Royalty series, and I highly recommend to read the first book before delving into this one. I haven’t read the first one and it took me a while to get caught up in the story as I was trying to figure out connections from book one. The author does a solid job in connecting readers with characters from the first book; however I was still a bit lost at the beginning of the novel.

Flora Wingfield is in love with her best friend, and the man jilted at the altar from book one, Theodore Day. What was supposed to be an easy husband hunting trip to New Orleans becomes a trip full of unexpected visitors, matchmaking plots, and a family secret that sends Flora running. Pirates, balls, jealousies, and beaus aplenty pepper the pages of this historic romance.

It’s an amusing tale, and fans of Jen Turano books will enjoy The American Royalty series.

Now that I’ve read book two, I’m eager to dive into book one.

I received an ecopy from the publisher through NetGalley. All opinions expressed are my own.
