The Divine Proverb of Streusel: Book Review

Book By: Sara Brunsvold

Sara Brunsvold’s sophomore book is every bit as good as her debut.

The Divine Proverb of Streusel sends readers on a journey with Nikki Werner as she seeks solace at her uncle’s farm. Nikki is trying to deal with family betrayal and the growing distance between her and boyfriend, Isaac. Discovering an old notebook filled with family recipes, Nikki finds the healing she’s been searching for – and so much more.

Readers are treated to a lovely cast of characters who add wisdom and humor to Nikki’s life. Awkward first meetings and heart-wrenching moments pull readers into Nikki’s world. Vivid descriptions of landscape and recipes alike bring the story to life, and one can almost imagine working alongside Nikki.

There are sweet stories and redemptive moments for more characters than just Nik. And those ones are just as heart-felt as the main storyline.

A great novel.

Make sure to read with a box of tissues, you might need them.
