Book Review: A Season on the Wind

BOOK BY: Suzanne Woods Fisher

What a sweet story!

A Season on the Wind by Suzanne Woods Fisher is a story about forgiveness and finding your way home. This Amish story carries readers away into the world of birding and second chances. It’s the first time I’ve read a story solely focused on this sport. Micah Weaver has a talent for finding rare birds, but when he fibs on a report, he sets off a series of events that will keep him on his toes through the rest of the novel.

Penny and Ben share a love of birds, and a history that Ben doesn’t remember. This, in itself, would be enough to keep me reading! But, the story, characters and easy narrative blended together, creating a multi-faceted, fascinating story.

Bird-watching journal entries at the start of each chapter give readers insights to Micah’s character, and reflects reality in nature. It was fun trying to anticipate what would happen next based on those entries.

Amish stories are not my go-to books to read, but I quite enjoyed this one.

If you love birding, romance and a good story, check out A Season on the Wind, by Suzanne Woods Fisher.

I received a copy from the publisher. All opinions expressed are my own.
