The Lost Story of Via Belle: Book Review

Book by: Melanie Dobson

This story was completely unexpected!

I loved the dual time line as both Harper and Olivia try to find their own stories in two different decades – one for the screen and the other for novels. The characters are rich – including the secondary cast – making this story an enjoyable read.

There are some possible triggers for some readers– death, verbal abuse, physical violence, kidnapping – but each is relevant to the story and handled with care (and never graphic). While this story covers a grave deception, there is a beautiful thread of hope and God’s grace that binds both storylines together.

There’s a bit of romance, but not the main focus of either storyline. It’s a story about searching for the impossible, writing a story worth writing, and finding family no matter who (or where) you are.

Some crazy twists may have readers gasping out loud – especially when fiction mimics ‘real life’.

I received a copy of the book from the publisher through NetGalley. All opinions expressed are my own.
