Celebrating 2020-21 Debut Authors

Welcome to a brand new blog series!

2020 was a challenging year. The excitement of releasing my debut novel was dampened by the fact I wasn’t able to do in-person author events or hit the road with my book in hand to share Stephanie and Jason’s story with others.

In the spirit of celebrating debut releases together, I’ll be introducing two new authors to publishing every month. The majority of authors I’ll introduce to you published their very first novel in 2020, and others have published their first novel within the first quarter of 2021.

Stay tuned on Wednesdays for Celebrating 2020-21 Debut Authors.

DARLENE TURNER romantic suspense

Debut Book – Border Breach – released April 1, 2020

When drugs are smuggled across the border, it’s their duty to stop the culprits…at any cost.

Forming a joint task force, Canada border officer Kaylin Poirier and police constable Hudson Steeves have one objective: take down a drug-smuggling ring trying to sell a new lethal product. But when the smugglers come after Kaylin and Hudson, this mission becomes more than just a job. Can they live long enough to solve the case?

ASKING DARLENE

Do you have a “go-to” author to read? Ted Dekker – I love his books. They always resonate with me!

Are you a snacker when you write, and if so, what do you snack on? Sometimes. Crackers (boring, I know). Coffee. Muffins. Chocolate as an occasional treat (especially when I reach a goal!).

What’s the next project you’re working on? I’m working on the fourth and final book in the border patrol series. This one is on the Niagara Falls/Fort Erie/Buffalo border. The second book launched March 1st this year – Abducted in Alaska and is on the Yukon/Alaska border. My website links to both my books.
