The Spy Keeper of Marseille: Book Review

BOOK BY: Roseanna M. White

What’s not to love about Roseanna M. White books?

The Spy Keeper of Marseille book cover, pastels, plane in top left, woman holding her hat in a French countryside.

The Spy Keeper of Marseille was one of those reads that kept me up late at night turning the pages until there were no more. I loved this WW2 story just as much as I love her WW1 stories. And for readers who read, The Collector of Burned Books, we get to meet up with some characters from that story though only briefly.

Zellie Bellerose’s character is inspired by a real woman who led a French resistance spy network throughout France.

This story has everything I love about Roseanna’s books – characters that are deeply flawed, immaculate historical detail without appearing like a textbook, rich plots and twisty turns that keep twisting.

Ah, and Marcel?! A swoony hero who isn’t a military guy, but he’s tough. And so sweet. And charming. And talented.

If you want a story that delivers intrigue, a slow-burn romance, inspired by true events, pick up The Spy Keeper of Marseille.

I received a copy from the publisher through NetGalley. All opinions expressed are my own.
