Book By: Carolyn Miller
I absolutely LOVED this story (so much that I want to read it again!).
I’m a huge fan of Carolyn Miller regency novels and have enjoyed several of her contemporary books. This book combines both the regency feel and the fun of a contemporary romance.
There’s so much to love about this story – the characters, the setting, the conflict, the tension. History teacher Olivia Bennet is one of the most relatable characters I’ve read this year. She’s a conscientious teacher, excited to be up for a promotion to lead the history department. And then…well, life throws a curveball and she ends up in England caring for her grandmother (who is a force to reckon with!), and wondering where God is directing her.
Caretaker Liam Browne is so much more than he appears. Life has been tough and it’s no wonder he reacts to Olivia the way he does. His story just tugs at your heart as his past is slowly revealed. And you can’t help but want him to succeed at saving his grand estate.
For Austen fans – there’s a whole lot of Austen references to enjoy. And the descriptions of the fictionalized estate are breathtaking (so much so, I want to visit it!).
This is definitely one of my top reads of 2025.
I can’t wait for the next story in the Silver Teapot series.
I received an ecopy from the publisher through NetGalley. All opinions expressed are my own.
