More Than Friends: Book Review

BOOK BY: Denise Hunter

This was a fun story about best friends becoming more.

I loved the opening scene when Jenna is about to be proposed to… This scene sets her running back home and then discovering her mother is seeing a man she’s only just met. And then, the boy across the road teams up with Jenna to investigate what’s really going on.

Though there are some light hearted moments, there are plenty of deeper issues that are tackled in this story. Some of those issue include loving a first responder; divorce; death; PTSD. The faith thread is very light – nothing too deep, though I think there was opportunity to go deeper with the issues that were tackled.

A definite beach read for anyone who loves the ponies of Chincoteague and the best friends to more trope.

I received a copy from the publisher through NetGalley. All opinions expressed are my own.
